viva las vegas

sorry for the much belated post! i’ve been in las vegas for an extended turkey weekend.  while indulging in lots of food, continuous shopping and a few drinks throughout the weekend, i’ve been knocked off-schedule.  we also made to a few Creighton basketball tournament games (my alma mater).  here’s a few weekend snapshots (some taken with iPhone, so pardon the blur).  outfit post to come soon!  also, my christmas wish-list is coming….it’s that time! for now, here are a few highlights from the trip. as always, vegas delivered over-the-top indulgences and spectacular views!

winter garden

top and heels <zara>, trousers <h&m>, bag <botkier>, bracelets <variety>

who knew florals could be wearable in the cold fall and winter months.  traditionally they are a spring and summer pattern.  with this season’s trends including dark floral prints, these trousers are perfect for an evening out.  with a small structured bag and pointed pumps, i feel well coordinated for an evening out.

black and gold

jacket <michael stars>, tshirt <old navy>, skirt <rory beca>, booties <mea shadow>, necklace <francesca’s>, bracelets <variety>, watch <michael kors>, ring <amrita singh>

black and gold combinations are a major trend this fall and winter.  with metallic fabrics and sequins overtaking stores, this look is an easy find.  here’s a less traditional way of interpreting the black and gold trend.  looking ahead at spring trends, intricate stenciling is on the radar.  like this skirt, see-through fabric overlay with a “cut out” effect will be in full swing this spring.  i like this winter version of the spring trend.  the sequins add some luster and the skirt adds some shape.  as for the t-shirt, it’s just plain and comfortable.
