watercolors

i love the look of color mixing.  what better way to mix colors, than with watercolors?  reminding me a bit of my childhood days (often in an apron, with cups of water and a couple of Crayola watercolor palettes), i usually thought i was creating a masterpiece of art.  now, i’ve turned to clothing to be creative; a bit more of an expensive venture;) with the hype of printed jeans, these shorts are the perfect substitute considering the heat wave we received last week.  just reminiscing of my childhood days with watercolor paints and hoping for cooler weather….

high and low

while it may officially be fall, the weather hasn’t been quite so compliant.  i will make any excuse to wear riding boots.  there was a chill (and wind) in the air this morning, so why not wear boots?  as with the end of any season, i look forward to change and reinventing my wardrobe by pulling out the last fall’s staples.  with the popularity of high-low skirts, these timeless boots make this look down-to-earth casual.  i searched high and low for the perfect riding boot, and because of it, these have sufficed for years.  i still look forward to wearing them each fall and winter.  here’s to a happy fall!

rustic elegance

this rustic sweater’s design is quite flattering. when i purchased it, i wasn’t sure how i felt about it (when worn, it’s short on one side and long on another and sort of crops up as you wear it). wearing it with a bandeau skirt is the perfect solution. this skirt is slimming and can be worn high waisted, so the sweater sweeps over it perfectly. the accessories are a little odd, but somehow i think it works! a major must this season = sweaters and skirts! it’s a perfect way to make a rustic sweater a little more elegant!
