singin’ in the rain

top <jcrew>, skirt <lily white>, rainboots <missoni for target>, belt <jasper & jeera>, umbrella <espirit>

it’s just another rainy day.  i can’t tell you how many flats and wedges i’ve ruined on a rainy day here in oklahoma city.  it’s usually not just a sprinkle, but torrential downpour, so rainboots are a must!  formerly living in california, i never knew a rubber boot would be vital, but it is here.  it was perfect that missoni collaborated with target last fall to put forth a eye-catching collection, well in demand by the public.  it was such a popular collection  shelves cleared within minutes of opening.  i wanted these rainboots so badly, i called relatives in nebraska to pick them up for me, knowing missoni is not as hot in demand there.  coupled with brights, these rainboots are the perfect accessory. add a pop of yellow and you’ll forget it’s so gloomy outside!

coffee talk

sweater <willow and clay>, tank <salemio>, pants <hudson>, sandals <matiko>, bag <marc by marc jacobs>, sunglasses <ray ban>, necklace from blue seven, watch <michael kors>, espresso cup gifted <ikea>

what’s better than a weekend morning with nothing to ponder but a cup of coffee and the scenery around?  with current trends, you can do just that while looking spunky and spirited.  with a plethora of colored and patterned jeans in stores and online, it’s an easy look to acquire.  these hudson jeans are one of my favorite pairs.  with its nebular design, they are interesting and quirky and casual enough for a cup of coffee.  Add a statement necklace, a cozy sweater and some sunnies and let’s have a cup of coffee!  in these jeans, your cup of coffee is sure to be out of this world!

fields of plenty

top <kimchi>, pants <zara>, wedges <L.A.M.B>, hat <jcrew>, belt <jcrew>, clutch <diane von furstenberg>, watch <michael kors>, bracelets from blue seven

the Panama hat has quite a history.  it’s practicality and style have served it well over the centuries.  From its beginnings in the 17th century, to Theodore Roosevelt and its rise to icon status, it’s fame was further established in acclaimed hollywood movies like “to kill a mockingbird” and “gone with the wind.” today, its classic, contemporary, and practical elements are gracing the heads of thousands of spectators at one the world’s most celebrated sporting events Rolland Garros. this is a hat transcending time, bringing history to present day and it’s track record proves it can be worn with almost anything from a silk suit to current street styles.  with white denim jeans, a kimono-style top, bright belt and wrap bracelets, this hat certainly “tops off” my look.  with the perfect wide brimmed hat to shelter me from the sun, i’m ready to take the oklahoma fields by storm.
