black and gold

black and gold combinations are a major trend this fall and winter.  with metallic fabrics and sequins overtaking stores, this look is an easy find.  here’s a less traditional way of interpreting the black and gold trend.  looking ahead at spring trends, intricate stenciling is on the radar.  like this skirt, see-through fabric overlay with a “cut out” effect will be in full swing this spring.  i like this winter version of the spring trend.  the sequins add some luster and the skirt adds some shape.  as for the t-shirt, it’s just plain and comfortable.

sweater and blouse <j.crew>, trousers <7 for all mankind>, boots <chloe>, bag <hype>, sunnies <ray ban>

these are the perfect days to be outside for a little sightseeing.  it furthers my appreciation for nature’s vastness and puts into perspective just how much there is to see of the world. plus, the weather has been perfect; a little chilly, but sunny enough to forgo a true coat.  in this setting, i blend in quite well, except for the touch of red.  this is my favorite sweater for the fall season.  i adore the little french hen on the front (for the record, this is as close as i will ever get to one)! this sweater is so close to my heart.  i can’t wait to wear it all season.  happy monday!

seeing spots

i love dots!  they are so reminiscent of childhood.  both whimsy and youthful, they are a sure bet this season to quickly update your wardrobe.  combined with a funky tweed skirt and playful plaid flats, the dotted shirt is a perfect play on spots.
