layer, tie or button your chambray shirt to transition it from a day at work, to lunch with friends and then a night out in the city. first, i layered the chambray shirt under a blazer adding a professional touch for a day at work. then, for lunch with friends, i wrapped my chambray shirt over a lace dress and added wedges to make the look feel more casual. since tying button-up shirts are back in style (welcome to the 1990s), this shirt plays a simple role as a lightweight sweater. finally, for a night out on the town, i tucked in my shirt into a bright, tulip skirt and added some hot, strappy heels and flashy bracelets. i love the chambray shirt! one of the best discoveries i’ve made since moving, is that most cities of relatively large size have an avid arts scene. at the oklahoma city museum of art, thursdays in the summer mean “cocktails on the skyline.” one can enjoy museum exhibits, a drink {or two}, vast views from the 5th floor patio, and marvelous music…all at an affordable price. with dale chihuly masterpieces (as seen in the photos above), it’s surely a treat, whether it’s your first visit or your 45th:) for this cool may evening, i wore a tulip skirt, paired with a soft, subdued see-through top. the wedges completed my look, giving it the sophistication “a night at the museum” requires. i thought the wedges paired quite nicely with the chihuly masterpiece pictured in the museum lobby. don’t you?
