rustic elegance

sweater <moth>, skirt <bcbg max azria> c/o, wedges <matiko>, clutch <target>, necklace <blue seven>, bracelets <see this post>, sunglasses <betsey johnson>

this rustic sweater’s design is quite flattering. when i purchased it, i wasn’t sure how i felt about it (when worn, it’s short on one side and long on another and sort of crops up as you wear it). wearing it with a bandeau skirt is the perfect solution. this skirt is slimming and can be worn high waisted, so the sweater sweeps over it perfectly. the accessories are a little odd, but somehow i think it works! a major must this season = sweaters and skirts! it’s a perfect way to make a rustic sweater a little more elegant!

as summer comes to a close, here’s a little reflection on some of my favorite things from my world of fasion. my favorite color from the spring/summer seasons was mint.  it’s just so fresh and flattering.  here, the feminine details of the eyelet patterned skirt it one of my faves.  it’s just so dainty!  the real standout here, however, is the miu miu clutch.  its jeweled chain strap is simply divine!  i picked up this newly minted “jewel” of a bag in NYC this summer.  pull out all of your faves for one last hurrah and enjoy the last couple weeks of summer!!

there’s nothing like cooler weather after a very hot summer. it’s exciting to access another season of clothes in your wardrobe. you feel fresh and new! as with any wardrobe, it’s best to be able to mix new and old pieces.  this tank is ancient. it’s probably 5 years old.  i’ve held onto it for years simply because i liked the geometric print and it’s easy to wash (i’m not worried about ruining this piece).  paired with a new necklace and new asos pencil skirt (both with interesting geometric prints), the tank now has a new life!  add booties and a little bit of fur, and you’ve got a great look for cooler weather.
