simple natured

structured minimalism was once again seen on fall 2012 runways.  the silhouette of this dress is very simple and the architecture of this shoe is as well.  decorated with a digital print (yet another fall 2012 runway trend), these heels have some interesting appeal when paired with the color-blocked dress.  i love a shoe with a print!  with leather, vegan and authentic versions, continuing to reign our seasons, this is truly a fall look. it’s simple-natured, yet elegant and sophisticated!

a special day

tank <vs sport>, chambray <banana republic>, shorts <ann taylor loft>, sandals <sam edelman>, bag <kate spade>, sunnies <bcbgeneration>

most recently i took a trip to philadelphia to visit my family.  my luggage was lost for 2 days. this was the first day i had “clean” clothes!  but, that isn’t the worst thing that’s happened this year.  in philadelphia, my 2 year old darling nephew was amidst proton therapy treatments for brain cancer. i went to help with appointments while his mother (my sister)  had yet another precious baby boy.  while i don’t typically write about personal matters, this turn of events have changed my life and was year-long emotional battle for my family.  while i was in philadelphia, my family and i went to lunch at the white dog cafe.  we enjoyed mushroom sliders and iced tea: something we’ve been unable to do as a family for months!   i am so proud of my sister and her family for having the strength to get through this tumultuous year.  i am happy to say that today marks a special day for my nephew.  he will ring a bell indicating his last proton therapy treatment. wish i were there!

little treasure

dress <treasure by amanda pleet>, booties <miu miu>, bag <antik batik>, bracelets <j.crew and the limited>, ring <ann taylor loft>

my most treasured possession are these miu miu booties.  typically, i’m afraid to wear them.  they should be put in a glass display box at a museum.  besides being a work-of-art, they are extraordinarily comfortable: an attribute hard to find in a well-heeled shoe!  i just had to wear these out for dinner in nyc.  i couldn’t argue with myself!  when i found this dress, i knew it would be a perfect combination with these booties. the colors play off one another perfectly.  it’s rare i actually look for a dress to “go” with my heels.  it’s certain; these little miu miu booties will forever be my little treasure!
