sparkling jewel tones

top <french connection>, skirt <bordeaux los angeles>, booties <dolce vita>, clutch <target>, belt <anthropologie>, clear bangle <the limited>, gold bangle and necklace <vintage>

my favorite colors to combine coexist in jewel tone family.  each color on its own is so rich and vibrant: yet when combined, they can be quite striking.  this fuchsia sequin top radiates when paired with the muted color of the skirt.  to offset the top and skirt, i added a rich cobalt blue clutch and turquoise blue necklace.  the multicolored belt brings the entire look together. with the length of the skirt and the shine of the top, this is a perfectly sophisticated urban look.

all day chambray

layer, tie or button your chambray shirt to transition it from a day at work, to lunch with friends and then a night out in the city.  first, i layered the chambray shirt under a blazer adding a professional touch for a day at work.  then, for lunch with friends, i wrapped my chambray shirt over a lace dress and added wedges to make the look feel more casual.  since tying button-up shirts are back in style (welcome to the 1990s), this shirt plays a simple role as a lightweight sweater.  finally, for a night out on the town, i tucked in my shirt into a bright, tulip skirt and added some hot, strappy heels and flashy bracelets.  i love the chambray shirt!
